About Us:

Located in the iconic red and white "lighthouse building" on Bienville Boulevard,
right in the heart of the island, the Dauphin Island Gallery LLC has a unique
coastal vibe, featuring juried fine art and select crafts in a variety of mediums
including painting, photography, pottery, printmaking and fine jewelry.
The Gallery also carries books by local authors and handmade gift items.
The Dauphin Island Gallery was founded by the Dauphin Island Heritage and
Arts Council (DIHAC), a nonprofit entity. The Gallery opened its doors on
June 6, 2013. As the first fine art gallery in South Mobile County,
the Gallery began with approximately 15 Dauphin Island artists.
Over the next nine years, the art and the member artists
in the Gallery have continuously moved toward higher levels of creative expression,
experience and quality.
Today the Dauphin Island Gallery LLC operates as a separate entity,
representing more than 40 artists and authors from the island and
surrounding Gulf Coast communities. The Gallery serves as the primary
art center and art buyers' destination in South Mobile County.
The Gallery and DIHAC work together as a public/private partnership,
and revenue from Gallery operations benefit DIHAC's nonprofit charitable programs.
The Dauphin Island Gallery LLC is home to the annual outdoor "Plein Air
Dauphin Island" Paint Out, a three-day outdoor painting competition and wet
paint sale that attracts artists and
buyers from all over the southeastern region.
The Gallery participates as a stop on the island wide annual Art Trail and
hosts pop-up outdoor art sales and in-house shows for its member artists.
